Buin Zoo is the most visited zoo in Chile and one of the largest in South America, with over 2,000 animals from approximately 250 different species. Located less than an hour from Santiago, the park combines a complete zoo experience with landscaped gardens, picnic areas, and interactive attractions that appeal to both adults and children.

What You Will Find

Buin Zoo impresses with its variety and the quality of its enclosures. There are 250 species spread across themed areas: gorillas, chimpanzees, jaguars, pumas, polar bears, lions, tigers, elephants, giraffes, hippos, zebras, tropical birds, reptiles, amphibians, and much more. The enclosures are modern and humane, designed for animal welfare and to provide visitors with an excellent viewing experience.

In addition to freely walking through the park, there are special activities such as supervised feeding of some animals, interaction areas with domesticated species, and educational shows at set times. Buin Zoo invests heavily in conservation and environmental education programs, making each visit a learning experience as well.

How Our Tour Works

Departure is from Santiago with a guide on board. Upon arriving at Buin Zoo, the group enters the park and is free to explore at their own pace, always with the guide's support to help plan the route, point out the most impressive animals, and answer questions. The return to Santiago takes place in the late afternoon, with enough time to enjoy everything at leisure.
