Laguna del Inca: The Inca Legend
Laguna del Inca is a glacial lake 4 km long, at 2,800 meters of altitude, with a greenish-turquoise color that changes with the light throughout the day. According to legend, the Inca's son lost his wife Kora here — a princess who fell to her death in the mountains — and the lake's color is said to reflect her emerald eyes. It is one of the most photographed spots in the entire Andes.
