MIM Museum & Santiago Cable Car
Interactive science + cable car at Cerro San Cristóbal
About this tour
Interactive Science and Panoramic Views in One Day
The Mirador Interactive Museum (MIM) is one of the most complete science museums in Latin America, with over 300 interactive modules spread across a vast area in the La Granja neighborhood of Santiago. Combining MIM with the Santiago Cable Car — which offers one of the most beautiful panoramic views of the city and the Andes Mountains — makes for a complete and unforgettable program for the whole family.
MIM Museum: 300+ Interactive Modules
At MIM, everything can be touched, tested, and explored. There are over 300 interactive modules organized in themed areas: the human body, environment, mathematics, physics, technology, astronomy, and much more. The installations are designed to stimulate curiosity for all ages — children learn through play, and adults rediscover subjects they studied in school in a completely different and engaging way.
The museum occupies a large outdoor space with interactive sculptures and open-air modules, in addition to covered galleries. The full MIM experience takes 2 to 3 hours, depending on the pace and curiosity of each visitor.
Santiago Cable Car: Santiago from Above
After MIM, the tour continues to the Santiago Cable Car, which ascends to the Metropolitan Park on Cerro San Cristóbal. The cabin ride offers a unique perspective of the Chilean capital: the view from above, between Santiago's urban fabric and the white backdrop of the Andes, is one of the most impressive views the city has to offer. At the top, there are rest areas, gardens, and the park's public pool (in summer).
Why Do It with Escapada Tours
With groups of no more than 8 people and a Portuguese-speaking guide, the MIM and Cable Car tour is conducted in a personalized and unhurried way. The guide accompanies the museum visit, explains the most interesting exhibits, and organizes the day's logistics so everything flows smoothly. It's the ideal program for families, groups of friends, and anyone who wants to combine learning, fun, and beauty in a single day in Santiago.
